Framed Artwork. 20.5 x 16.5 inches. Abstact forms. Back of frame has "Honourable Mention" ribbon attached and says "Thistles." Pencil and coloured pencil. Also attached is a cheque for purchase of work by the Gauthiers. |

Doris Joy Paterson was born in Portsmouth, England in 1924. During the war she volunteered at Warwick Castle as a typist, and there she met and married RCAF navigator Ted Paterson. After the war, she immigtated to Canada as a war bride in 1946. She divorced Ted in 1982, and moved from Winnipeg to Nanaimo, and then to Mission, BC. There she began to develop her artistic talents to their full potential. She was a community servant and talented artist, and received many awards for her serivce in Mission. |
